Meyal Oil Field is one of the foremost contributors in oil and gas sector of Pakistan. It is geologically located in the Himalayan foreland and thrust belts, Potwar Basin, northern Pakistan. Meyal Oil Field zone has been scrutinized methodically through six seismic lines and three wells' data (MYL-10, MYL-12, and MYL-13). Eocene rock units primarily encompassed of the Nammal Formation, the Sakesar Limestone, and the Chor Gali Formation portraying entire thickness of 608 ft, 599 ft and 609 ft in MYL-WELL-10, 12 and 13 respectively. The analytical interpretation of Gamma-Ray logs signifies transgression and regression cycle. The current research intends to present subsurface rock units of Eocene, with special emphasis on reservoir potential. It will be a contribution to demarcate a promising site for test drilling in the Meyal area. The results of petrophysical enlightenment comprising hydrocarbon saturation, water saturation, formation of water resistivity and permeability with described state of the art suggest Sakesar Limestone and Chor Gali Formation are prospective reservoir of Eocene age.
